The gang's all here—well, most of the gang.

Production is underway on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the sequel to Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Marvel Studios' 2014 blockbuster that earned over $773.3 million at the box office. On Monday, director James Gunn and actress Zoe Saldana shared pictures from rehearsals via their Twitter and Instagram accounts, respectively. Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Chris Pratt and Zoe stuck silly poses in James' behind-the-scenes picture. "Rehearsals for #GotGVol2. @bautista shows @zoesaldana, @prattprattpratt & @seangunn what real acting looks like," James wrote. Zoe, meanwhile, shared a photo of the cast reviewing its scripts, telling her fans, "#weareback."

The following day, Chris shared a photo of a Walkman and a cassette tape with the words "Awesome Mix Vol. 2" written on it. (His character, Peter Quill/Star-Lord, found the mix tape at the end of the first film.) In the Instagram caption, Chris waxed poetic up getting back to work.

"Feels good to be back in action on Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2!!! I can't even tell you how excited I am. Ok I'll try. I'm ecstatic. I'm bursting with joy. I'm overwhelmed by feelings of enthusiasm, joy, gratitude, conviviality, camaraderie, elation, exhilaration. I just used an online thesaurus for these words. I suggest trying that," he told his 3.7 million followers. "That way instead of saying 'I'm very excited' say, 'I'm exhilarated.' Never too late to learn words."

"The pen is mightier than the sword. I never got that. I could whoop someone's ass if I had a sword and they only had a pen. WAIT!!! Now I get it. Cause you could use a giant pen with a dagger on one end? And a gun on the other end? No? Whatever. Point is... Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Is going to be the greatest spectacle film of all time," the 36-year-old actor added. "This is not.... bear with me... using online thesaurus..... Hyperbole! This is not hyperbole!"

For now, fans will have to take Chris' word for it, as the movie doesn't hit theaters until May 5, 2017. Karen Gillan will be back as Nebula, while Pom Klementieff joins the cast as Mantis. Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel will also return to voice Rocket Raccoon and Groot, respectively. The sequel is being shot in Atlanta, where Chris recently filmed the sci-fi love story Passengers with Jennifer Lawrence.

Before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Marvel Studios have two other major movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe scheduled for wide release: Captain America: Civil War on May 6, 2016 and Doctor Strange on Nov. 4, 2016.
