If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit—but what about tighty-whities?

Cuba Gooding Jr. got a sense of what it was like to be in O.J. Simpson's shoes—and underwear—as he shot a scene in character for FX's American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson. As you can see from these set pics, the Oscar winner was waving a gun as he ran from a white Ford Bronco like the one made during that infamous 1994 slow-speed car chase.

The entire first season of American Crime Story, a new anthology series, will be focused on the high profile trial in which a jury found O.J. not guilty of murdering ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

Cuba is joined by quite a cast of characters in the series, which is produced by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski and Dante Di Loreto. David Schwimmer is making a grand return to acting in the role of O.J.'s friend and defense lawyer Robert Kardashian, and Selma Blair portrays Robert's then-wife, Kris Jenner. John Travolta plays Robert Shapiro, another member of O.J.'s "Dream Team," and Courtney B. Vance portrays head attorney Johnnie CochranConnie Britton plays Faye Resnick, Nicole's friend and a witness in the trial, and Jordana Brewster plays Denise Brown, Nicole's sister. Prosecutor Marcia Clark is portrayed by American Horror Story's Sarah Paulson.

Scott Alexander, one of the series' producers, told Vulture of American Crime Story, "It's going to be a hoot."

"The strange thing about the trial is that they [the real-life characters] all shoved themselves onto television and so a lot of lawyers ended up becoming 'personalities,' which is very unusual," he continued. "So everybody in America knows this entire cast of lawyers and witnesses and hangers-on."

American Crime Story is tentatively set to premiere in early 2016.
