Cara DeLevingne is making her big acting debut in the upcoming Michael Winterbottom film The Face of An Angel.

In the newly released action-packed trailer, a documentary filmmaker (Daniel Brühl) attempts to investigate the mysterious murder of Jessica Fuller (Genevieve Gaunt), a student found lifeless in her Tuscany flat.

The film's events are loosely based upon the controversial case involving Amanda Knox.

To chase down the story of this homicide, Brühl joins forces with an ambitious student tour guide named Melanie in hopes of catching his prime suspect red-handed. This is where green-eyed and bold-browed Delevingne steps in.

And just when Brühl's character becomes completely absorbed in the case, he ends up becoming completely attached to the blond beauty.

Now he must make the choice: to fall in love or seek out justice.

The real-life case revolved around the murder of Knox's roommate Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy in 2007. In the controversial case, Knox was found guilty in an Italian court, served four years and was released in 2011 when the verdict was overturned. She was prosecuted and convicted again in early 2014 by an Italian court. She has since appealed the verdict.

Delevingne can be spotted alongside A-lister Kate Beckinsale when the film hits theatres June 30.
