The newlyweds, who tied the knot on Jan. 5 in a short-and-sweet ceremony after a whirlwind courtship and even whirlwindier engagement, were finally spotted out together in L.A. over the weekend, the couple seemingly having been hunkered down at their home in Beverly Hills 24/7 since swapping vows.
But no—they got away!
The full-of-surprises pair honeymooned in Jackson Hole, Wy., a couple of weeks later, turning up at Q Roadhouse and Brewing Co. on Jan. 20.
"It was just the two of them," a source tells E! News, adding enthusiastically that both husband and wife "were awesome," really cool and laid back.
We're told that Cameron and Benji feasted on a number of the eatery's specialties, including shrimp and grits and fried chicken.
"They were really happy and having a good time," the source says. "They were enjoying the food."
Well, they certainly had plenty to be celebrating!
The Diaz-Madden party surfaced (and were caught surfacing by photographers) a few days ago at the Four Seasons, where they lunched at La Culina inside the hotel with Benji's brother, Joel Madden; Nicole Richie;and their two kids, Harlow and Sparrow.
