Special delivery for Ellen Pompeo!
The Grey's Anatomy star has welcomed a baby girl via surrogate, her second child with husband Chris Ivery.
"Sienna May Ivery welcome to the world. We love you more than words can say," the proud mom wrote on WhoSay Thursday along with a pic of Ivery holding their precious new bundle of joy.
Sienna joins 5-year-old sister Stella in the family fold.
And yes, this was a major secret, one that Pompeo thanked Grey's boss Shonda Rhimes and her colleagues for keeping so close to the vest.
"Sienna was born via surrogate & I would like to thank my whole @ShondalandTV family for helping us enjoy these first few weeks privately," the actress, who is in her 11th season playing loopy but lovely-and-successful doctor Meredith Grey, tweeted this afternoon.
Pompeo married her music producer hubby in 2007 after years of dating. They welcomed Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery on Sept. 15, 2009 (happy belated birthday, big sis!).
Stella's sly mom was on Ellen in April, talking about her fabulously precocious-sounding firstborn.
"Well, today she told me I ruined her life," Pompeo said, laughing at the very thought of it. "She's 4 1/2. So yesterday, she said to me, 'Mama, this is the best Easter I've ever had and you're the best mom in the whole world,' and I said, 'thank you, Stell.' And this morning she woke up and said, 'I don't want to take swim lessons, it's my life and my choice, and you're ruining my life.'"
Got to love the penchant for drama—maybe she'll go into the family business!
