Jaime King made a bold statement via social media Monday.

The Hart of Dixie actress, 35, published a picture of herself nursing son James Newman, 8 months. "These are the moments a mother lives for," the ex-model wrote in the photo caption. "Breastfeeding should not be taboo—and bottle feeding should not be judged—it's ALL fun for the whole family."

King's Instagram picture earned more than 17.9 thousand likes in less than 48 hours. Other stars who've shared photos of themselves breast-feeding include Gisele Bündchen, Miranda Kerr and Teresa Palmer.

The TV star's picture was praised by fans. "That is beautiful, sweet, and you're exactly right about it being a moment moms live for!" Twitter user @happilymadmadmama wrote. "It is natural, and should be cherished." Twitter user @IamShelleys echoed that sentiment, writing, "Society is quick to judge both forms of providing food for our babies. By banding together we can break down these barriers."

King, who has been married to filmmaker Kyle Newman since 2007, has been outspoken about a number of issues facing new moms. In June, she took to Twitter to defend women whose post-baby bodies were under scrutiny. "People should really be more conscious of judging mothers for being too 'fat' or too 'thin' after having a baby," the actress told her 170,000+ followers. "It's disgusting & cruel."
