Say cheese!

Sure, Prince William and Kate Middleton are used to getting their picture taken everywhere they go. But it's not every day the royals get snapped by an Oscar-winning director.

Well, that's exactly what happened when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met up with none other than Peter Jackson at the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre in Blenheim, New Zealand, on Thursday.

Yep. The man behind the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit flicks was there to greet the duo and personally give them a tour of his collection of World War I aircraft that are housed at the museum.

And, much like the many who came to catch a glimpse of William and Kate, it seemed as if Jackson himself was a bit starstruck.

Armed with his smartphone, the director couldn't help but capture the moment with a few candids.

The museum was just the latest stop in the royals' event-filled three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia.

In addition to hanging out with Jackson, the popular pair attended a state reception at Government House in Wellington, where they unveiled a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by local artist Nick Cuthell.

And if that weren't enough, they also took time out to visit the War Memorial and Clock Tower at Blenheim's Seymour Square to lay a wreath in honor of the country's fallen. The wreath placed at the site contained notes by Kate and Will marking the 100th anniversary year of the end of World War I.
