Say whaaat?

Winona Ryder looks absolutely gorgeous on the latest cover of Interview magazine and reveals how she was told that her good looks wouldn't suffice in the early days of her acting career.

"I was in the middle of auditioning, and I was mid-sentence when the casting director said, 'Listen kid, you shouldn't be an actress. You are not pretty enough. You should go back to wherever you came from and you should go to school. You don't have it,'" the Iceman star told the mag.

"I honestly think she thought she was doing me a favor," Ryder added.

But the 41-year-old beauty credits her close family upbringing for not letting the harsh words affect her.

"[My parents] had always instilled in me that it was way cooler to be an individual and to be unique and that you don't want to blend in."

We're fairly certain that casting director is eating her words right about now!
