Arnold Schwarzenegger is ready to publicly recall the sordid details of the tryst that destroyed his marriage.

The one-time Governator, who is set to release his autobiography Total Recall, opens up to 60 Minutes about his affair with housekeeper Mildred Baena and the ongoing impact of its fallout on his ex-wife, Maria Shriver.

"I think that Maria is wishing me well with everything that I do," he said in a sneak peek of the interview, which aired on CBS This Morning Monday.

That said, the 65-year-old also admitted that his ex "hasn't read anything" from the book yet.

"She knows that it's about my whole life and that I would not write a book and leave out that part and make people feel like, 'Well, wait a minute, are we just getting a book about his success stories and not talk about his failures?'" he said.

"And that's not the book I wanted to write."

What he did want to write, it seems, doesn't shy away from the salacious and damning deets of his affair with Baena, with whom he sired a son, now 14 years old.

According to passages from the book excerpted by the New York Daily News, Schwarzenegger cops to having sex with Baena in the guest house of his California home in 1996 when he wasn't on the set of Batman & Robin. Shriver, he reportedly writes, was away on vacation with their four children.

The star also admits trying to come to terms with the reasons for his infidelity, saying that his arrogance led him to believe that he could "get way with ignoring the rules."
