R&B songstress has a vision of motherhood after her pet pooch gives birth

Mariah Carey is welcoming a new addition to the family. But it's not what you think.

The R&B songstress dropped some big news on her Twitter page Monday: her pet pooch is a proud mama.

"ChaCha just had her baby! It's a giiirl!!! Anybody want a beautiful Jack Russell puppy?! Jk: ) lol," Carey tweeted.

While we're thrilled for Mariah, the 41-year-old hitmaker has done little to dispel rumors that she's ready to embrace motherhood herself

Bumpwatch hit overdrive last week after she abruptly quit Tyler Perry's new film, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, due to start shooting next month. She and 29-year-old hubby Nick Cannon were also spotted leaving a doctor's office earlier this month.

Her rep declined to discuss the matter, citing a no-comment policy on her personal life.

For his part Cannon has been mostly mum on the subject. While hosting E!'s D10 on May 27, he proclaimed the only thing he knew was "Cha Cha is pregnant again!"

He later struck a more serious tone on Twitter, saying his "heart goes out to any woman who has to deal with public scrutiny and speculation pertaining to their private life."

"If & when my wife is ready to make ANY announcements about private matters she will do it personally."
