Stuart Townsend may be Charlize Theron's leading man, but he's no longer the God of Thunder's BFF.

The 37-year-old Chaos Theory star has exited the upcoming Marvel Comics' Thor movie due to creative differences, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Townsend was originally cast as Fandral in the fantasy flick, a friend of the hammer-wielding Norse god, but now it's being reported that the part will be played by newbie Joshua Dallas, who also stars in George Lucas' upcoming drama Red Tails.

Dallas will join the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins and Renee Russo when the Kenneth Branagh-directed film kicks off production Monday. The film is scheduled to hit theaters May 2011.

Townsend was famously the first choice to play Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but was later replaced by some guy named Viggo Mortensen.
