Jimmy Kimmel took the reins of the Emmys for a second time and nobody was safe from his 2016 monologue.

Kimmel, who hosts ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, begin the show with a pre-taped segment featuring James Corden, Jeb Bush, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the cast of Modern Family and Emilia Clarke. Nobody was safe from jokes, including Maggie Smith, Donald Trump and Marcia Clark.

"If your show doesn't have a dragon or a White Bronco in it, go home now," Kimmel said poking fun at Game of Thrones and The People v O.J. Simpson's multiple nominations.

He then turned his attention to Clark, who Sarah Paulson brought as her date.

"Everyone in LA knows if you want to win, sit next to Marcia Clark," Kimmel joked about Paulson's nomination for playing the attorney in the FX miniseries. Paulson naturally booed him. "Are you rooting for O.J. to win this time?" Kimmel asked Clark.

Kimmel quickly turned hist attention to Game of Thrones, namely Emmy nominee Kit Harington. "Television has the ability to make us laugh and cry and during certain key parts of Game of Thrones, masturbate," he said. "Hi Jon Snow, you're my freebie you know. I'm so glad they brought Jon Snow back to life."

The Emmys were applauded for the diversity in the nominee pool, especially after the Oscars controversy. "The Oscars are now telling people we're one of their closest friends," he said.

When it came time to turn his attention to Trump, Kimmel told the audience to thank The Apprentice producer Mark Burnett. "Thanks to Mark Burnett, we don't have to watch reality shows anymore because we're living in one," he said.

As for Downton Abbey star Maggie Smith, Kimmel said they were starting a new rule "You must be present to win. It's called the Maggie Smith rule."

"Why do we keep nominating this woman? She's treating us like the People's Choice Awards," he said.

He ended the monologue simply: "Are we ready to make the Emmys great again?"
