Say it ain't so, folks.

After more than four years of dating, E! News has learned that Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund have split and ended their romantic relationship.

The news may come as a surprise to fans who recently saw the couple step out together at the 2016 Golden Globes. In fact, the pair smiled big for the cameras while attend FOX's award show party earlier this year.

Last summer, the Fargo star also had nothing but kind things to say about her longtime boyfriend. In an interview with Town & Country, the actress was quick to say things were going "really well" between each other.

"We're the same age. We have similar backgrounds," she shared with the publication. "He feels like family to me."

If that wasn't enough, the actress admitted that she was thinking of getting pregnant after being surrounded by a few moms to be.

"I'm in baby mode because two of my really good friends are pregnant right now," she confessed to Red U.K. "Thirty-three is a good age to have your first baby."

Kirsten and the Pan actor first met back in 2011 while co-starring the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's On the Road. Garrett later admitted to Details that their first date on an early morning canoe ride wasn't exactly smooth sailing. "It was not a stable canoe," he confessed. "We fell out and had to swim back in mucky, sh-tty water, like golf-pond water."

But, don't worry. He ultimately had another chance partly because he had many qualities that Kirsten looked for in a man.

"I appreciate old-fashioned manners," she recently shared with Net-A-Porter's The Edit. "I want a guy to pay for dinner and open the door for me. I love the masculine."

Us Weekly was first to report the break up news.
