Robert Downey Jr. made some kids' movie experience that much cooler.

The A-lister surprised a theater full of teens when he made a surprise appearance at their Iron Man 3 screening last night at Manhattan's E-walk multiplex in New York City, and although this isn't the first (or hopefully last) time the actor has made an impromptu cameo, this particular visit was a little more sentimental.

This particular screening was held by Disney and The New York Daily News to honor 39 teens from the Police Athletic League who volunteered to clean up Hurricane Sandy-damaged areas around the city.

Along with arriving in a spiffy black-and-white suit and silver sneakers, RDJ offered a bit of wisdom to the next generation.

"It really is a pleasure to be here. I remember when I was growing up there was an organization called Kelly's Heroes and it was kind of an offshoot of something like PAL, which is fantastic and it kept me out of trouble and look where I wound up," he first said.

"I know you're all here because you've been doing something special in the fantastic five buroughs, this great city, this great empire state," the actor continued.

"I just wanna say I'm here to honor you and say the future of this city, this state, this nation—you guys can do whatever you want. I guarantee you. Just keep doing the right thing and you're going to be running the joint in a minute."

Spoken like a true superhero.
