Just a quick update for you fans who are still waiting with bated breath: Season three of Friday Night Lights is looking more and more official-ish, despite the fact there is still no official statement from NBC.
After I reported last week that one of the show's main stars told me season three is definitely happening, Kyle Chandler (our beloved Coach Taylor) went on NPR's Fresh Air and said a deal for season three has already been reached.
This deal, according to Chandler, is the one we've been talking about: It would spread FNL over more than one platform (NBC and most likely DirecTV) to give the Peacock net a partner in sharing the costs. Chandler said production will resume this June in Austin, Texas. Whee!
Stand by and keep those eyes clear and hearts full, because there's a chance the official pickup announcement might come as soon as next Wednesday, April 2, when NBC is doing a prime-time schedule presentation in New York City.
