Heroes Redux: A Good Can Opener Is Hard to Find

Note: Don't you dare read this if you haven't yet seen last night's Heroes!

That's gonna leave a mark.

That's all I could think while watching that final scene of last night's Heroes, in which the former Crockett to Suresh's Tubbs—big bad Sylar—began opening Peter's head like a can of EZ-Open Chicken of the Sea. Guess we know where that scar comes from that Future Hiro was talking about, eh?

That Peter-Sylar encounter was just one of this episode's many squeal-worthy moments, am I right?

Other Notable Highlights:

  • Mama Bennet goes all Alias on her hubby, HRG (remember that steamy shower scene with Sydney and Vaughn while they were being bugged? Sigh—I miss 'em!), and then reveals she's not whom she said she was.
  • Simone seems to come back from the dead before revealing she's shapeshifter Candice.
  • Grandma Petrelli is in on it all!
  • And, of course, you gotta love that Peter and Sylar finally have come face to face. Or brain to tastebuds, as the case may be. Gaaaah!

I don't know about you, but I'm more in love with this show than ever before. So. Freaking. Good.

What Lies Ahead:

  • The show doesn't return until Apr. 23. (Somebody hold me. Especially if your head was just cut open by Sylar.)
  • Matt, Daddy Bennet (HRG) and Ted are all gonna be incarcerated for the next episode, but Matt's stellar mind-reading abilities help them bust out faster than Wentworth Miller, Houdini and D.L. combined! (Matt reads HRG's mind—and yes, HRG is becoming something of a Hero himself! He's not a mutant or anything, just smart.)
  • Sylar gets pushed out of a window, and—are you ready for this?—he will die.

And, well, crap, I've already said too much! So, let's round out this Reduxity with a theory—yes, it's just a guess!—of mine that hopefully will lead to loads of discussion in the Comments section below. ('Cause I need your help.)

Kristin's Wacky Theory of the Week:  It's not actually Peter who's blowing up in that final "bomb" scene in New York City. It's Sylar, who has stolen Candice's shape-shifting abilities and Ted's radioactive abilities.

Sounds pretty solid, does it not? Let me know what you think below!

And until Apr. 23, please keep your noggin away from sharp objects and cuties in Ramones shirts!
