NBC promo guy, where are you?

Sorry, I just have to wonder, because after receiving hundreds of emails from fans asking whether Laura Innes is actually leaving ER, I just found out that she is departing. And I can't remember a time when a main character left an NBC drama without getting an overly hyped promo from the NBC voice kahuna!

(Note to NBC: Somebody better check on that guy. Seriously. He might be laying in a ditch somewhere.)

All joking aside, I, for one, am saddened to hear that Dr. Kerry Weaver won't be gracing our TV sets on Thursdays any more. According to a rep at NBC, Innes "is leaving the show, but she might come back for some special episodes in the future. She will continue to direct many of the ER episodes along with a lot of other shows like Studio 60, House, etc." I'm told tomorrow night will be Laura's final episode as a series regular.

Kerry Weaver, you will be missed. Still, something tells me that ER will not be lacking in future episodes. If you've been watching this season, you know it's just about the best season the show has ever had. (Take that, Clooney. Own that, Stamos.)
