Teri Hatcher talks fashion faux pas and her new modeling career...plus, which of her Desperate costars is dipping into her wardrobe? And Paris Hilton and Wilmer Valderrama hit Vegas to promote their threads, but which of the dabbling designers has more fans?

Teri Hatcher, the new face of Badgley Mischka's ad campaign, feted herself with a party Monday night at One Sunset. Though the night was mostly all about Teri, it was clear she had someone else on her mind when she arrived: her daughter, Emerson.

"Someone needs to take care of my family!" Teri barked at a handler, as she was escorted onto the red carpet. With new Desperate Housewives costar Dana Delaney and Emerson in tow (no Stephen Kaye in sight—are they still dating?), Teri saw to it that her offspring was quickly ushered inside, far away from the flashbulbs, as she posed for pictures. Good to see some moms try to keep their daughters out of the spotlight.

Party guests were only too happy to gush about how fabulously fashionable and fierce Teri was. James Denton described her style as "hot," while Andrea Bowen said she's learned a lot from her onscreen mom's fashion choices.

"I think she's very classic and beautiful, and she dresses her age, which is really nice," dished Andrea. "Because I'm 17, and you always see—without mentioning any names—girls around my age trying so hard to look older and trying so hard...I learn a lot from her about embracing your beauty for what you are."

Okay, we get it, already. Teri's a friggin' fashion plate! But does this glamour girl of the hour ever have a fashion faux pas?

"Ask one of the magazines," Teri laughed. "Pull out all the 'don't' pages!"

T.H. also dished on how she got into character for her latest Mischka photo shoot. "I didn't think of it as modeling," the heavily made-up small-screen queen fessed. "For me, what I bring to it is the same as what I bring to acting...the emotion behind the picture and the spirit more than 'How am I looking?' I don't look at Polaroids. I just hand it over to the photographer. It's a great amount of trust."

Arriving fashionably late was Felicity Huffman, who came straight from the Desperate set and had apparently suffered a slight wardrobe crisis. Felicity told us press peeps she'd worn pajamas to the set that day and had nothing to wear for the party—so she borrowed Teri's tank without asking. Her amiga didn't seem to mind at all as they hugged and posed for pics together. "I thought that looked familiar!" Teri laughed. Just don't expect to see them swappin' pants any time soon.

"No!" Felicity answered when I asked if Teri ever gave her fashion tips. "You fit into these size-zero jeans? Not so much!"

Paris Hilton is still on her best behavior, even while partying in scandalous Sin City. Saint Paris held a private cocktail party at Social House Monday night for her new fashion line, which she launched the next day at the MAGIC Marketplace trade show. And although delicious libations such as ginger saketinis and rock -candy lemonades were being served, sober spywitnesses reported Paris didn't drink a drop of alcohol. P. Hil showed up in a shiny silver dress and was sporting a new, short bob, after having ditched her extensions a few days earlier. And bonus! No panties were flashed, if you must know.

Paris headed over to Pure later, where another aspiring designer was hosting his own bash. Wilmer Valderrama was celebrating his Calavena clothing line, which he'd been personally promoting at Project, an industry trade show in Vegas earlier this week. Instead of hiring worker bees to shill his goods, Wilmer was manning his booth and hawkin' his fedoras, leather jackets and denim to anyone and everyone.

At Pure, Wilmer had a VIP table and was rapping and emceeing on the mike, but Paris still managed to steal the show simply by showing up. "Everyone was filming her and paying attention to her," dished one guest. "Nobody even saw Wilmer after that."

Apparently, Wilmer wasn't too fazed that all eyes were on P, as he even announced her presence to the packed club just after midnight. As if anyone didn't already know.
