The Hollywood veterans vamp it up as they reunite with director Tim Burton for Depp's longtime passion project, a big-screen reimagining of the classic ABC gothic soap Dark Shadows.
The 48-year-old thesp takes on the role of 18th-century vampire Barnabas Collins, who after being buried alive is inadvertently freed from his tomb 200 years later in 1972 to find Collinwood Manor a much different place from when he left it.
Collinwood Manor is now inhabited by Barnabas' descendants, led by current matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Pfeiffer). The 53-year-old actress last appeared in a Burton film playing Catwoman in 1992's Batman Returns.
A family full of secrets, and what a portrait they make! Standing beside Elizabeth are her good-for-nothing brother Roger Collins (Johnny Lee Miller), her obstinate teenage daughter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloë Grace Moretz), Roger's 10-year-old son David Collins (Gulliver McGrath), David's nanny (Victoria Winters) and the estate's caretaker, Willie Loomis (Jackie Earle Haley).
As live-in psychiatrist Dr. Julia Hoffman, her character helps Elizabeth get to the heart of the family's troubles—and the mystery surrounding the 200-year-old master of Collinwood Manor.
Ah...the memories. Before pulling his Rip Van Winkle, Barnabas was a rich and powerful playboy who had the world at his fingertips. That is, until he made the mistake of breaking the heart of a witch played by Eva Green (not pictured), who turned him into a vampire.
The actor who originated the role of the famed bloodsucker in the TV series.
