Another DWTS season, another injury.
Each and every season, Dancing With the Stars pushes celebrities to their limit, with countless hours spent rehearsing and learning professional-level dance routines. And in many seasons, stars have been forced to withdraw from the competition due to injury and season 21 is no exception as two celebs, Tamar Braxton and Kim Zolciak-Biermann, have had to exit the show.
But they aren't alone: Nine dancers before them have left...with one citing "personal" reasons. Click through our gallery to find out who had to leave DWTS early and why...
While she almost missed a performance after being rushed to the hospital before the Nov. 9 show, Braxton was able to make it in time to avoid a disqualification. But the next day, The Real co-host and singer revealed on Instagram that she was withdrawing from the competition after discovering pulmonary embolisms in her lungs. "With a Heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem," she wrote.
The Don't Be Tardy star was disqualified from the show after her doctor advised her not to fly from Atlanta to Los Angeles after suffering a mini-stroke, preventing her from performing and causing some upset fans to launch an ultimately unsuccessful campaign to get her back on the show. A few weeks after exiting the show, the Bravo star underwent heart surgery.
Where's The Force when you need it? The Star Wars fan-favorite exited season 18 due to a chronic back problem.
Did you know the singer was supposed to compete in season eight? Unfortunately, she fractured her tibias just before the season began, with Holly Madison taking her spot.
Another early ouster in season eight was the TV host, who withdrew just before the season began after tearing her meniscus, which required surgery. Filling in for her was Bachelor alum Melissa Rycroft, who would later go on to win the All-Stars season.
After just two dances, the Olympic figure skater withdrew from the competition in season 16 due to a severe back injury.
While she didn't suffer a physical injury, the country singer left the competition in season three citing personal reasons after filing for divorce from her then-husband, Craig Schelske.
The U.S. House majority leader suffered a stress fracture in his foot in the weeks leading up to the beginning of season nine, and while he was able to compete, the slight fracture became a full fracture. And after suffering another stress fracture in his other foot, DeLay announced he was leaving the show.
The Olympian was forced to withdraw after rupturing her Achilles tendon during a rehearsal, which required the volleyball star to undergo surgery.
The young rapper, whose full name is Romeo Miller Jr., was originally set to join the season two cast, but suffered an injury before the competition officially kicked off, with his father Master P filling in. Romeo later competed in season 12.
Season-ending injuries aren't limited to just the celebs: Murgatroyd was unable to participate in season 21 after tearing ligaments in her ankle during a rehearsal with Andy Grammer, who went on to partner with Allison Holker.
