Just as it takes more than a dress to make a man a drag queen, it takes more than a pair of pants to make a woman a drag king. This documentary explores the New York City drag-king subculture, kind of like the flipside to Paris Is Burning. The camera follows several female performers who transform themselves into men--from dapper gentlemen to swaggering truckers--and present themselves at drag haunts like Club Casanova.
Some live as men, while others position themselves between genders, but all of them want question the definitions of what makes a woman and what makes a man. It's a fascinating, fun glimpse into their world.
