Is this what they mean by husband hunting? While investigating a spouse-napping, Cecilia Roth (All About My Mother) discovers that her marriage is loveless and that her hubby's been embezzling millions of pesos from the Mexican government. And if she does nothing to save him, she ends up totally rich. Her conscience doesn't permit that, however, and with the help of two neighbors--one a do-gooder and one a tad more suspicious--they're off to get him.
Playing detective and falling in love again, Roth rides an emotional roller coaster, but we're never quite sure what's lurking under the surface. Is this all really happening, or is it just a big midlife crisis? The flick tries to say something about starting anew but remains on the lighter side of things, never totally pulling the audience in. Still, you won't feel like you're being held for ransom if you check it out.
