Hollywood never tires of light romance. Here Andy Garcia plays a lovable loser, a ticket scalper, a man without a driver's license. He even lives at the YMCA. All this somehow attracts the affections of the beautiful and talented chef played by Andie MacDowell, who is fast losing patience as Garcia attempts to make the last big score of his dreams--hawking tickets to a papal mass.
Realism is in short supply here. The movie's "R" rating seems a little harsh, even with its few moments of relatively tame street violence. Mostly, Just the Ticket is an entirely predictable, but pleasant enough, waste of time.
