Last time we checked, kids can't drive themselves to the theater. So, one way to determine if a kid-flick succeeds is by noting how often parents check their watches while waiting for the juvenile drivel to end. The glow of Indiglo Timexes, however, will hardly be seen at Jimmy Neutron, where this boy genius manages to keep smiles on faces of all ages.
Jimmy's adventure into space (where he saves the day, natch) is a warm and friendly voyage with a touch of Jetsons. The rubbery computer-generated imagery is lighthearted and fun, and there's even a lesson about the importance of parental love thrown in for good measure. Sure, it's little more than an 80-minute Nickelodeon cartoon, but Jimmy's near the top of its class.
