In the magical world of movies, romance and travel are often joined at the hip. So, it's no surprise to find cupid wreaking havoc at an airport and bringing odd couple Juliette Binoche and Jean Reno together. The plot is predictable enough: She's beautiful but with low self-esteem; he's capable of loving but self-absorbed. And it's those endearing quirks and nuanced portrayals by Binoche (as a too-easily abused beautician) and Reno (an uptight chef with his own frozen food line) that will win you over.
Writer-director Danièle Thompson also lends a good ear for dialogue and eye for detail, so good you'll be surprised that you're this interested in a story that's restricted to an airport. A layover never felt so right.
