Oh, the ennui! A bored couple, the owners of a cleaning business, experience sexual meltdown when a youthful transvestite enters their dreary lives. Miou-Miou and Charles Berling headline this progressively murky and uninvolving French fluff-and-dry frolic. Stanislas Merhar plays the provocative youth who performs in drag onstage with his sister (Mathilde Seigner).
Miou-Miou's character initiates contact, but it's Berling who blows a fuse when it appears he might just like being bisexual. Director/cowriter Anne Fontaine unleashes a nasty resolution and wraps it up fast, leaving the viewer bewildered and unimpressed with this bleak slice of life--and death.
