If you were nominated for a Grammy Award, who would you call first? For some stars, that would be mom.

Bright and early Tuesday morning, Meghan Trainor read off the nominees for the 2017 Grammy Awards and it was quickly clear it was going to be a battle of the greats come February.

To start, Adele and Beyoncé will face off for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year. Drake and Kanye West are also among the most nominated with eight nominations a piece.

While they are certainly no strangers to the Grammy stage, there were some newcomers to the Grammy family and they rightfully could not contain their excitement.

Best New Artist nominee Kelsea Ballerini reacted just like we all would when she tweeted, "Oh my god. MOM IM GOING TO THE GRAMMYS." The caps lock was absolutely necessary.

It was put to good use again when fellow Best New Artist nominee Maren Morris shared her surprise over her four first-time nominations. "Four Grammy nominations!? I'M SHOOK," she tweeted.

Still, the surprise was felt by Grammy nominees new and old. Three-time Grammy nominee Keith Urban was finishing up a show when he found out about his three nominations.

"It's 2am and I'm just coming down from a crazy great show overseas," the country crooner said in a statement.  I'm totally blown away with these nominations. Making RIPCORD was really a collaborative labor of love both for the music and all the people that helped me bring my vision to life.  I'll stay up anytime to hear news like this….just not sure of how to get to sleep now!!"

Here are more emotional reactions from the stars—and even some of the places they were when they heard the good news.
