Sometimes, a kiss is just a kiss.

Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez raised eyebrows Thursday when they locked lips moments after performing the duet "Olvidame y Pega la Vuelta" at the 2016 Latin Grammy Awards. The exes—who co-parent 8-year-old twins—have remained friendly in the five years since they called it quits, and Anthony is producing his ex-wife's Spanish album, slated for release in 2017.

Lopez presented Anthony with the Latin Recording Academy's Person of the Year award. "You are giving us classics that will remain with us forever," Lopez (speaking in Spanish) said to Anthony. "You will always be many things in my life—a mentor, a soulmate, a father. He is not only a Person of the Year—he is a living legend." The crowd chanted "kiss," so the stars obliged.

The superstars' smooch had tongues wagging, so Anthony poked fun at the speculation by kissing members of his entourage and posting pictures on Instagram and Twitter Friday. "Good morning, mi gente!" he wrote. "Share your beso. #elbesoeffect #magnusstrong #whatsurbeso."

And now it's time for the musicians to get back to work, as Anthony and Lopez have an album to finish. "It is an honor to welcome Jennifer to the Magnus Family," Anthony said in October.

"She has had enormous accomplishments in her career and has been representing our culture all over the world from day one. Her artistry, professionalism and passion for music are just some of the many attributes that have earned her a unique place in the entertainment world that very few people have been able to obtain," the entertainer said in a statement. "I am looking forward to our creative collaboration and to be part of continuing her musical legacy."
