Two days after police in the Bahamas announced an investigation into an extortion plot targeting the grieving John Travolta and Kelly Preston, two possible suspects have been collared.

Bahamas Police Commissioner Raymond Gibson tells E! News that both a local politician and an ambulance driver are being held for their possible involvement in the plot.

"We have two persons in custody assisting us in this matter," says Gibson, declining to elaborate.

Officials took Senator Pleasant Bridgewater into custody yesterday; ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne was detained earlier today. Lightbourne was previously lauded in the press after claiming he was one of those who futilely attempted to revive 16-year-old Jett Travolta before the young man was pronounced dead on Jan. 2.

While the nature of the demands has not been disclosed, a Bahamian news outlet reported earlier this week that there may have been a cell phone photo of Jett snapped in an ambulance.

Neither the Travoltas nor their lawyers have commented on the report or today's arrest.
