The Bachelorette's Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried Welcome a Baby Boy

Former reality stars have been documenting their journey to parenthood on Instagram

Welcome to the joys of motherhood, Desiree Hartsock.

E! News has confirmed that the former Bachelorette and her husband Chris Siegfried welcomed their first child into the world on Wednesday, a healthy baby boy named Asher Wrigley Siegfried. Their bundle of joy came in at 8 pounds and 20.5 inches.

"Words can't even express the amount of love we feel for our baby boy Asher," the new mom gushed in a statement to Us Weekly, who first reported the story.

"He has already brought so much joy into our lives in one day. He's strong, healthy, happy, playful and warm. Chris and I are beyond blessed with this beautiful gift of life that we are excited to have as a part our family."

In the days and weeks leading up to the special delivery, both mom and dad were documenting their journey to parenthood.

Whether finalizing the nursery with help from East Coast Creative's Monica Mangin or staying healthy with fitness classes from Elite Fitness Training, there was no rest for the twosome.

At the same time, Desiree was able to celebrate with a thoughtful baby shower at Capri Cellars in her Washington hometown.

"The atmosphere and cheerful mood made this day I will always remember!" she wrote on her personal website. "The reality of our baby boy joining the world very soon finally set in with all of the wonderful advice and gifts we received. What a beautiful day!"

Back in April, E! News confirmed that the couple was expecting their first child. They would later announce the sex of their baby in August during baseball season.

"We are so excited to share that we will be having a little baby BOY!" Desiree shared on Instagram. "Our hearts are so full of love for our little man already and we can't thank you all enough for the extra love you've shared during this special time."

Viewers first met Desiree during season 9 of The Bachelorette back when it premiered in May of 2013. After starting the season with 25 guys, it ultimately came down to Drew Kenney and Chris.
