After a long summer away, the roommates are back, and they're bringing their feelings, their cats, and their relationship problems with them.
Tonight's premiere chronicles Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece's (Hannah Simone) house hunt, Winston's (Lamorne Morris) long-distance relationship with Aly (Nasim Pedrad), and of course, Jess' (Zooey Deschanel, who directed the episode!) lingering feelings for Nick Miller (Jake Johnson).
The big problem with that last one is the fact that in the season five finale, Nick headed off to New Orleans to be with Reagan (Megan Fox), leaving Jess to pick up a few new ridiculous and amazing hobbies.

Trust us, that quick clip (and the term "Vancouver's shoe") is just a snippet of one of the many moments that had us cracking up during the premiere episode, which both reunites the gang and sends them on a new adventure that, based on all the HGTV shows we've ever seen, can't be anything other than great TV.
As for Reagan herself, Megan Fox will be returning later in the season for a major stint that will most definitely further complicate Jess' renewed love for Nick, and we honestly can't wait.
