Hold the phone! You're going to need to sit down for this news. According to an insane fan theory, everything you ever knew about Grease is wrong.  Despite being posted to Reddit some time ago, the theory has recently resurfaced. The details are so insane; it's even stumped celebrities like Sarah Michelle Gellar, who posted her disbelief to her Facebook page. We feel, you Sarah. We feel you. What about this theory is causing everyone to lose their mind? Believe it or not, Sandy may be dead, and the entire movie might just be a fantasy. This is the part where we ask if you've got chills and if so, are they currently multiplying?

It seems like every show and movie sparks serious fan questions. If you've read through all of the Stranger Things theories, you'll want to get in on these Grease thoughts next. The theory says Sandy did, in fact, drown on the beach the day she and Danny met, despite Danny singing in "Summer Nights," "saved her life, she nearly drowned." After Sandy had drowned, she went into a coma, which lasts the entire film. The events that occur during the movie are simply a "drowning woman's coma fantasy," according to Reddit. Um, dark much? It gets worse. The end of Sandy's coma-induced vision finishes with her at the school fair with Danny. The scene ends with Sandy and Danny flying off into the sky in their car, which suggests this is the end of Sandy's coma fantasy. In other words, she finally dies and is on her way to heaven. Ugh! Why must it be so depressing?

There have been other theories that both Sandy and Danny had passed and that the whole thing is just his final dream. A third theory states Sandy actually took her own life during the film when she said, "Goodbye to Sandra Dee." A Redditor remarked, "Everything that happens in the last scene is just a little too perfect. Danny and Sandy are back together despite everything, Rizzo suddenly isn't pregnant, and Kenickie suddenly decides that he actually loves her, the geeky kid gets onto the sports team, everything is suddenly ok, just the way that sweet, innocent Sandy would have wanted it to be. And in the last shot of the movie, she flies up to heaven with her dream boyfriend in her magic flying car."

This is legit the saddest Grease article we've ever written. Here's a happy GIF to make you feel better.
