Same Old for 24, Big Night for Mother

Second part of show's two-night season premiere holds steady in ratings; CBS' How I Met Your Mother heats up

Monday TV's Big Finding: People who still watch 24 on TV still watch 24 on TV. Last night's two-hour episode (12.3 million, Nielsen estimates show) basically held its audience from Sunday's two-hour episode (12.5 million).

Jack Bauer's Favorite Sitcom: Worst Week (10.5 million). From 8 to 10 p.m., it was the only CBS comedy Fox's 24 beat in the 18-49 demo.

Jack Bauer's Least Favorite Sitcom: Two and a Half Men (17.1 million). Airing its first new episode in a month, TV's most-watched comedy dominated Monday, scoring the night's biggest audience and highest rating in the 18-49 demo.

Take That, Fred Savage: CBS' hot How I Met Your Mother (11.8 million) was up nearly 3 million viewers over its season average.

On the Upswing: ABC's The Bachelor (9.1 million), the CW's One Tree Hill (3.1 million) and Gossip Girl (2.9 million; even in total viewers, up in its favored demo, women 18-34).

On the Downswing: NBC's Superstars of Dance (7.1 million), which was off 26 percent in viewers and 30 percent in the demo from last week.

Already Fallen, Still Can't Get Up: NBC's Mamma's Boys (4.6 million), which was down about 1 million viewers from last week.
