We may never know why it took so long for McDonald's to make this a reality, but we are feeling blessed that they finally did. The fast food chain is testing out a late night (technically early morning) 'walk-thru' lane that caters to the drunk and hungry crowd. Surely you know just how frustrating it is, to walk up to a 24-hour McDonald's only to find out those hours just apply to the drive-thru window. Cringe.
Sure, some of us in the states are lucky enough to have the Postmates app, which can deliver our Mickey D's when we're drunk (slash lazy), but many places aren't in that boat. Also, anything to prevent drunk driving works for us! Hello, walk-thru lane.
The Sun notes, the restaurant, which created the pedestrian lane between the hours of 2:30-4:00 in the morning, is located in North Wales, close to a nightclub. Smart move. The test was such a huge success (duh), the location decided to make it a reoccurring thing each weekend.
We're hoping every McDonald's everywhere will learn a lesson from this one, and make this a staple like they did all-day breakfast. We're fairly certain sales would be higher than its walk-thru customers.
