ESC: Kylie Jenner Lashes

Kylie Jenner will be 19 on Aug. 10.

She's had an unbelievable time of it these last 11 months since reaching legal voting age—buying a new home, launching her wildly popular Lip Kit, traveling the world, reaching 67 million Instagram followers, buying another home.

The 18-year-old has also been rumored to be pregnant at least four times over the past two years. Or at least she's felt the urge to explicitly address it four times, so that doesn't include every tweet on any given day or every line on every random blog insisting she's got a bun in the oven.

"I'm not trying to become a rapper, I'm not getting married, & I'm not pregnant....," Kylie, then 17, first tweeted on Dec. 11, 2014. The evidence that she was expecting?

Literally nothing. There was absolutely zero reason to think that except for the fact that it was technically physically possible. Maybe. No one even knows that for sure.

Then the idea gained new traction in May 2015, again before Kylie had even turned 18. "People been thinking I'm pregnant for 8 months now... CLEARLY I'm not pregnant!" the as not-pregnant-as-ever teen tweeted on May 27, 2015, which puts the advent of the overall speculation closer to her 17th birthday.

And so it went. She turned 18 last August and then the world got preoccupied with facts, such as her on-and-off-and-on-again-off-again-and-now-on relationship with boyfriend Tyga. Not to mention the actual baby-making going on in the family, with sister Kim Kardashian welcoming son Saint West on Dec. 5, 2015, and news of brother Rob Kardashian expecting his first child with fiancée Blac Chyna.

So there's been a lot of reality for people to deal with. But they haven't forgotten about Kylie...

"Why is everyone saying that I'm pregnant?" the teen marveled on a June episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. "Who's the dad?" inquired Kourtney Kardashian. "I don't know, how do people know before me?!" Kylie wondered.

But this summer's been a busy one, so we find Kylie shooting down yet another pregnancy rumor this week, apparently sparked because (as if there needed to be a reason) she tweeted she had "big surprises" coming soon.

When will people learn that celebs are nearly always talking about work when they promise that?

"Omg. No I'm not pregnant. It's been the same rumor for years & no baby..." she tweeted Thursday. "So when I decide to go to that next stage in my life...I'll be the first to let you know...Not a weekly blog."

Though at this point we wouldn't blame her if she's changed her mind about sharing anything with anyone when that day actually occurs.

Because when you're still weeks shy of your 19th birthday, isn't it just weird that you've been shooting down pregnancy rumors for "years"? And there hasn't even been the kind of so-called evidence that the Internet usually seizes upon to build suspicion, such as the slightest hint of a bump or frequently being spotted carrying a bag in front of your stomach.

E!

We get there's a particular fascination with every aspect of Kylie's life that's different than the overall fascination with her entire family. Perhaps because Kylie and Kendall Jennerare the ones who were still growing up when the Kardashians changed the reality-TV game and made it their own, and there has pretty much never not been a time when Kylie hasn't had Twitter, Instagram and now Snapchat at her disposal to do with as she pleased.

But there are a lot of famous young women out there around Kylie's age, and there is no one who has been put through this particular rumor mill. You have to look all the way across Hollywood to the likes of Jennifer Aniston, who for some reason has become the poster actress for that impudent rumor.

And while Kylie seems to be handling her current lot in life with a sense of humor...she's barely out of childhood. It may seem hilarious now, but if it doesn't stop that sort of thing can weigh on a person.

Aniston, who's always seemed pretty chipper about her revolving spot in the headlines, came out and blasted the system in a scathing op-ed for The Huffington Post this week, finally admitting that it sucks.

"This past month in particular has illuminated for me how much we define a woman's value based on her marital and maternal status," she wrote. "The sheer amount of resources being spent right now by press trying to simply uncover whether or not I am pregnant (for the bajillionth time... but who's counting) points to the perpetuation of this notion that women are somehow incomplete, unsuccessful, or unhappy if they're not married with children."

There doesn't seem to be nearly that much thought put into what is persistently speculated about Kylie, but it's unfair all the same. Just because she's a public person, enjoys playing coy with the media from time to time and has shared some sexy selfies doesn't make it any more OK for those who are decidedly not in the know to go there, again and again.

And even though she's 18 going on 19, and that seems more grown up than ever these days, let's remember that age sometimes should still be a number.

Don't miss a new episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Sunday at 9 p.m. on E!
