Former cast member Lauri Peterson's son Joshua Waring was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder early Monday morning, police said. The 27-year-old is alleged to have shot a 35-year-old man in the lower torso. He was also arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, hit and run, assault and battery and felony evading police after fleeing the scene in a 2011 BMW X3 SUV.
Eight hours later, the SUV crashed after being discovered in Santa Ana, Calif. by helicopter and Waring ran to a nearby business in an attempt to hide, only to surrender soon after.
This is not the first time Waring has had trouble with the law. He pleaded guilty to a hit-and-run in 2008 and drug possession in 2015 among a handful of drug-related felony and misdemeanor charges over the years, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
Fellow past co-star Jeana Keough told E! News he's a "troubled child."
"Lauri's done everything she can to help him," she said exclusively. "It's in the court's hands now. You're innocent until proven guilty. We don't know the situation. My prayers are with Lauri and her family."
Keough was not the only reality star thinking of Peterson. Longtime Real Housewives member Vicki Gunvalson contacted Lauri as soon as she heard of the arrest.
"I reached out to Lauri this morning when I heard the news, and let her know I am here for her if she needs anything," she exclusively revealed to E! News. " As a mother myself, I can't imagine how difficult this is for her."
Alexis Bellino, a fellow Housewife who overlapped with Peterson for two seasons, is turning to prayer.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lauri and George," she and husband Jim Bellino told E! News.
