You did it. You watched all 13 episodes of Orange Is the New Black season four. There's now this weird void in your life. A void that won't be filled until next June. A Litchfield void. So what happens now? You, along with the E! TV Scoop team, ponder what will happen to your favorite inmates because that cliffhanger was a pretty, pretty, pretty big one.
These are the questions we want answered in season five. And of course, your requisite spoiler warning is here. Stop reading right now if you don't want to know what happened.
Will Poussey get a proper memorial?
Season four's penultimate episode featured a peaceful protest that ended in Poussey's (Samira Wiley) death. Her friends, including Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Black Cindy/Tovah (Adrienne C. Moore), started getting tributes and sympathy gifts as they planned the memorial, but things took a turn when Taystee riled the inmates after Caputo refused to throw Bayley (Alan Aisenberg) under the bus for Poussey's death. He also didn't honor or even name her during the news conference.
Will Daya use the gun?
After the black inmates collided with the Latinas and the white women in the corridors, Daya (Dascha Polanco) got her hands on a gun. Everybody assumed she'd give it up Maria (Jessica Pimentel), but instead she took command of the situation and held the officers at bay, pulling the safety back. Will she actually use the gun? And if so, on who? And what brought this change on in her?
Will Aleida do something crazy?
Daya's mom Aleida (Elizabeth Rodriguez), got released from prison, but had nowhere to go, so she's shacking up with Cesar's other baby mama. However, she saw Caputo (Nick Sandow) on TV talking about Poussey's death in the vaguest terms. Will that, coupled with the riot, make her do something to get sent back to save Daya?
Will we get a Yoga Jones backstory?
This season featured a lot of Yoga Jones (Constance Shulman) with her roommate Judy King (Blair Brown). Yet we've never gotten a Yoga Jones flashback. We know her crime (accidentally killing a kid), but that's it. Give us more Yoga Jones!
Can Judy King redeem herself?
The season ended with MCC fudging Judy King's paperwork and trying to get her out of prison so she wouldn't be embroiled in the Poussey death scandal. Yoga Jones urged her to speak out and not go along with everything, but Judy was on her way out…until the prison factions all met in the middle, ready to riot.
How long will Piscatella's reign last?
Viewers met new captain of the guard Piscatella (Brad William Henke) and his methods left plenty to be desired (but let's be honest, a lot of the new guards are 100 percent terrible). The inmates rallied to get him fired, but their protest and the guards' reaction to it led to Poussey's death. Caputo threatened to reveal Piscatella's past misdeeds with the men's prison…so can that please happen?
How long before Caputo breaks?
Speaking of Caputo, he's bound to either turn completely evil or rebel against MCC, right? When will that happen? And can it be the latter, please?
Who's going to get Sister Ingalls out of SHU?
Sister Ingalls (Beth Fowler) worked with Gloria (Selenis Leyva) to get Sophia (Laverne Cox) out of SHU, but in doing so got herself thrown in. It seemed like she was going to be able get out, since she was sent there for just slapping Gloria, but after she was discovered with the vintage cell phone (which Caputo then used to get Sophia out of SHU), Sister Ingalls was left there to rot. Will Sophia and Gloria come to her rescue now that they've seemingly buried the hatchet?
Is Suzanne OK?
OITNB season four revealed Suzanne's (Uzo Aduba) heartbreaking crime while delving into her psyche a little more, but the season ended with Suzanne being rushed to medical after getting crushed by a bookshelf. She was awake, but is she totally unscathed?
Orange Is the New Black has been renewed for three more seasons.
