Denim cutoffs are the summer staple you'll wear again and again, guaranteed. 

But especially since you don't have Kendall Jenner's budget, don't go thinking you need to spend hundreds of dollars for your go-to short-shorts. Sure, you can do that if you want, but all you really need is a little know-how, courtesy of celeb stylist Natalie Saidi.

According to the pro, getting your hands on the perfect pair of summer shorts is as simple as recycling a pair of unworn jeans from the back of your closet. "It's all about getting the cut just right and then adding a few distressed details to make the shorts look rugged and cool," shared the pro. In other words, there's a little more to it than just chopping off the legs.

"For cool distressed details, concentrate the holes on the outer edges of the shorts and be sure to distress the seams—that's the most important part," she elaborated.
