Well, we can't lie—Steak Penn definitely has a ring to it.

Interestingly enough, actor Sean Penn has such a deep love for red meat, that he actually almost named his son Hopper after it. In the latest no-this-is-actually-true news, Hopper Penn, who lent his good looks for a spread in Interview magazine, reveals that he would have had a very interesting moniker if his famous dad had things go his way.

"My dad wanted to name me Steak, the food, because he loves it so much," Hopper explained to the mag. "But my mom was never going to go for it. What they told me is that I hopped in her stomach, I didn't kick, so they went with that."

Additionally, Hopper's name pays tribute to Easy Rider's Dennis Hopper, who Penn idolized.

Sean Penn may not have been able to name his son Steak (which was probably for the best), but he did manage to convince his son to follow in his acting footsteps.

It may seem obvious that Hopper would create a career in front of the camera, with a dad like Penn and an also very successful actress mother Robin Wright, but the acting bug didn't really get Hopper...until now.

"I asked if I could PA for it," he said of The Last Face, which starred Sean's then-girlfriend Charlize Theron and Javier Bardem, but Papa Penn had a different idea in mind.

"He said, ‘No, you're going to act in it.' I said no, because I'm very shy. I didn't know how to act. He said, ‘Well, you'll get paid.' So I was like, ‘I'm on board.' After the first day, I fell in love with it," Hopper explains, but still remains modest on his talents.

"My dad is a really good actor, and there are a lot of sh----y actors, and I definitely think I'm one of them," he said.
