Diddy is not desperate, thank you very much.

A rep for the hip-hop impresario is smaking down a New York Post report claiming the artist otherwise known as Sean Combs is trying to play the celeb card in hopes of scoring tickets to President-elect Barack Obama's swearing-in ceremony.

The Page Six item claimed that unlike other fellow Hollywood types such as Halle Berry and Sharon Stone, who ponied up $50,000 donations to the inauguration committee to help cover some of the costs of the celebration, Diddy was reluctant to open his checkbook and instead wanted gratis passes.

"The story is ridiculous and untrue," publicist Keesha Johnson tells E! News. "Diddy was offered tickets by the Obama inaugural committee because of his work on the campaign trail with Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige and Kevin Liles. He never asked for tickets and he was never asked to pay for them."

Adds Diddy: "I am very grateful to be a part of this moment in history. Happy New Year and I'll see y'all at the inauguration!"
