Wearing silk without looking like you're ready to hit the sack is an art.

An adorably pregnant Behati Prinsloo stepped out in a nude silk shirt maxi dress yesterday looking as cool as ever. Styled with a leather jacket, round sunglasses and the dopest Alexander Wang slides you've ever seen, the model proved wearing silk in the daytime is not only appropriate, but it's also a must.

Its light-weight and breezy appeal makes it the perfect transitional piece—and we're not just talking about its ability to adapt from daytime to nighttime, but it also works with various personal styles. If Behati's lots-of-leather look is too much for you, try swapping the choker for a lariat necklace, the crossbody for a clutch, the round sunnies for something cat-eye and the hardware-heavy shoes for some white Keds.

And if you're wondering (because you have yet to reach international supermodel status) whether or not teaming up your outfit with a jacket in the summer will raise eyebrows, think again. Silk's breathe-easy properties make that completely doable (especially in the nighttime).

Moral of the story: Silk is a definite summer go-to. So what are you waiting for? Get shopping!
