Oh, you thought Kanye West was sweating his (very random) audition for American Idol's final season? Well, think again.
The first footage of Yeezy's tryout for the judges has found its way online, courtesy of wife Kim Kardashian's Twitter page, and neither husband or wife are particularly doubtful about the rapper's chances of making it to Hollywood. You know, because he's Kanye freakin' West.
"My name is Kanye. I'm from the south side of Chicago. I'm originally a producer," West tells judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., and Keith Urban in the promo below. "I always wanted to rap and no one really believed in me, so I wanted to try some things out, you know?"

When E! News' Will Marfuggi caught up with the American Idol judges during filming of the last-ever Hollywood Week round last month, host Ryan Seacrest gave us the lowdown on the show's surprise run-in with Yeezy. "We were in San Francisco, and they said, 'We've got a contestant that's just going to jump into the line.' And up walked Kim and Kanye—Kim pregnant and Kanye enthusiastic and ready to go in there," he said. "He walks in there and does a lyric about J.Lo from one of his songs."
Lopez added, "Kanye just walked in the room, that's all I can tell you! That's all I know. For a minute, I was like, 'Is that Kanye?'...Even though I've seen him a million times, in that setting I just didn't expect it—but it was really funny."
American Idol returns to Fox for its final season Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m.
