One weekend in Barcelona, the next in Miami—life must be tough for celeb makeup artist Karen Gonzalez. Hey, we all know traveling does a number on the skin.

By now, however, the pro has mastered the art of beauty-savvy jet-setting. Girl's got her kit—and surprisingly, we've learned you really only need five beauty products to keep things fresh.

Unlike the Hollywood insider, you may not be flying first class on an American Airlines Dreamliner, but whatever your holiday travels this season, be prepared with these TSA-friendly beauty essentials.

Soap and Glory Hand Food Mini Travel-Size Hand Cream, $4
We know, we know—how hard is it to put on lotion when you're feeling dry? But try applying some on an hour before the flight to really lock in the skin's moisture…before you spend hours in a cabin with recycled air. This cream really nourishes cuticles and dry elbows as well, said Karen.

Lipland Lipgloss in It's French, $14.99
A little gloss goes a long way. You might not be trying to impress anyone, but this long-lasting formula actually nourishes lips as well as protects it, the Instagram star noted.

First Aid Beauty Vitamin Hydrating Mist, $16
You may not be drinking as much water when your travel, and that pressurized cabin can really dry you out—so just before you take off, spritz a hydrating spray on your face. Pop in your earphones and let it really absorb into your visage. When the landing announcement comes on, reapply for a pre-landing pick-me-up, suggested the makeup pro. You'll look fresh and dewy.

Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels, $30
It may look silly but it's totally worth it. Pull down the shade (or, in Karen's super-cool case, press a button to tint that window) and apply these hydrating masks under the eyes. "These guys will help ease the appearance of dark under-eye circles and help take care of any puffiness that occurs during flight," she said.

Tarte Cosmetics Maracuja Oil, $48
Before you land, apply a few drops of this essential oil to your face, hands and even your hair to replenish any lost moisture, urged the makeup pro. It'll help give your skin that softer, smoother effect. Pro tip: "Layer the misting spray under the oil for extra hydration for people with super dry skin," she added.

You may have flown coach, but you'll look like first class when you land.
