Earlier this year, after Caitlyn Jenner revealed that she is transgender, the 65-year-old Olympian said she hopes to use her celebrity status as a platform to help others. The article below is part of an on-going original series written by Jenner for WhoSay called "The Real Me," which will explore issues and people in the LGBT community. This week, she answers a fan's question about a possession close to her heart—the gold medal she won for the decathlon at the 1976 Summer Olympics.

"Where Do I Keep My Gold Medal?" by Caitlyn Jenner

Hello friends! I hope your week is off to an awesome start. I've been going through all of the messages that you've sent me, and I'm overwhelmed by your kindness, words of encouragement, and insightful questions. While I can't respond to each of you, I want you to know that I'm reading everything and it means so much to me. Here's a fun question that I seem to get a lot…Enjoy!

I didn't want them to constantly compare their own achievements to my time in the Olympics, so I haven't displayed my medal. Here's where it currently lives... (watch below)

You know what? Now that all of my kids are adults and out of the house, I think it might be time to put this baby up – and when I do, I'll be sure to show you.
