Want a smooch-worthy pout year-round à la Shay Mitchell? Yes, please.
Little known fact: Lips don't have oil-producing glands, which is why they can get extremely chapped and need special attention in comparison to the rest of your body. With the sun shining and outdoor celebrations scheduled on the regular, you might find your pout feeling a little less than kissable (i.e. chapped, cracked and moisture-hungry).
To remedy the situation, exfoliate the area once a week with this two-ingredient, make-at-home scrub.
Required Materials:
Coconut oil
Sugar
Wash cloth
Since lips are so delicate and feature the thinnest layer of skin on your body, opt for a gentle, fine-textured ingredient like sugar, which buffs away dead skin cells without scratching or further irritating chapped lips. Mix with equal parts coconut oil. The sugar non-abrasively exfoliates while the coconut oil (which is high in saturated fat and chock-full of vitamin E) provides extra nourishment.
Step 1. Apply mixture to your lips and massage in circular motions for 60 seconds, firmly but not roughly.
Step 2. Wash off with a damp cloth and pat dry.
Step 3. Seal with a layer of pure coconut oil for a long-lasting dose of moisture.
And just like that, a pretty little pout is all yours in three simple steps!
