InstagramOlympic figure skater Sasha Cohen is engaged to Tom May.
The 2006 silver medalist shared a picture with her new fiancé on Instagram on Monday, telling her fans, "Engaged to the most incredible man… I've never been so happy." Cohen also showed off her new bling.
The proposal appears to have taken place in Provincetown, Mass.
Cohen met May, a hedge fund manager, during a Harvard Business School party last year. They went on their first date in October, according to People. "The couple are on a two-month traveling expedition and will plan more details about the wedding upon their return in the fall," the bride-to-be's rep told the magazine.
After sharing her engagement, newlywed Vanessa Williams sent Cohen a sweet message via Twitter, writing, "Congratulations to you and Tom on your engagement @SashaCohenNYC! Wishing you all the best!" Cohen, who is also a three-time World Championship medalist, responded, "Thank you so much!"
In addition to planning her wedding, Cohen is also focused on school.
After all, she is currently a student at Columbia University.
"A couple of my professors recognize me," Cohen admitted to The Omaha World-Herald when she was a sophomore in 2013. "But my legal name is Alexandra. I go by Alex. I'm pretty low-key. I live downtown and I still skate at Chelsea. I'm involved in a lot of different charities. My life isn't completely one of a student...I feel really blessed to have a well-balanced life right now after having such a long career."
