This Jurassic World Theory That Connects Chris Pratt's Character to Jurassic Park Is Kind of Mind-Blowing

First posed by Dan Harmon on his podcast, it's quite plausible that Chris Pratt's character may have appeared in the original film

Jurassic World is officially out in the theaters, but before you go see it can we tell you about this theory that's floating around the Internet? We think it will make your movie-going experience a little bit more magical.

This theory, which was first thrown out into the world by Community creator Dan Harmon on his podcast and further fueled by reddit, connects Chris Pratt's character Owen to Jurassic Park in a really remarkable way.

So do you remember the annoying little kid ("volunteer boy" on IMDB) in the beginning of Jurassic Park who called the Velociraptors "not very scary" and said that they looked like "six-foot turkeys?" Of course you do.

Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) shuts that s--t down by describing in gross, intricate detail how this small child would die at the hands claws of these raptors. Spilling intestines, kid! Spilling intestines.

Dr. Grant ends the lecture by asking the kid to show some respect to the animals, and the kid responds with an awed: "OK." And according to this theory, that little kid grows up to be…

Owen, the raptor whisperer in Jurassic World! It makes sense. This kid was so changed after Dr. Grant's lecture that he devoted his life to these raptors and now spends his days making sure they are respected. Owen even says in the movie: "I don't control the raptors; it's a relationship. It's based on mutual respect."

The ages of the two actors are only a year apart, so that aspect of the theory more or less lines up. And even when /Film reached out to Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow about the theory, he didn't debunk it.

"I'm not sure I want to answer because the speculation is so much fun. Let's not kill the fun," he insisted.

Now that's the kind of answer we want to hear! However, Whitby Hertford, the actor who played the young boy in Jurassic Park, does not like this theory one bit:

Damn it, kid! Just let us believe this magical theory.

Oh, and if this theory is true (which as we just mentioned we are choosing to believe), then Owen totally Longbottom-ed and went from pudgy and dorky to totally smokin' hot.
