Chalk it up to poor comedic timing?

Former View co-host Sherri Shepherd, who exited the ABC program in June 2014, returned to her talk show roots on Thursday when she appeared as a guest moderator on the program.

During the show's Hot Topics segment, the women were discussing a new statistic which says that millenials are in no rush to have children, prompting Raven Symone to reply, "I'm 29, I'm about to be 30 this year. I want a baby so bad. I've wanted a baby since I was 15."

Sherri's response?  "I got one or two you could have of mine. I'll give them to you," she quipped before adding, "Women with kids are like, take mine."

Shepherd's answer is particularly awkward considering the 48-year-old television personality was ruled the legal mother of her child with ex Lamar Sally back in April, just shortly before her segment for The View was filmed. The former couple's now ten-month old son, whom Shepherd must support financially, was born via surrogate and was already on the way when the exes split up

While the comedienne has yet formally comment on the judge's ruling, Shepherd did express her distaste for divorce on The View and seemed to hint at the drama that ensued following her separation with Sally in April 2014.

"Girl, don't tell me about divorce being expensive," she said. "I'll tell you about divorce being expensive."

She continued discussing her personal life in a later segment while the ladies were chatting whether you should put your best friend or your boyfriend first.

"I actually feel like if I had listened to my best friend, I wouldn't be having a million attorneys in my life right now," Shepherd said.

"I think—the wonderful thing about best friends is they don't hold it against you," she continued. "So all the stuff that I'm going through now, all of my best friends who told me, 'Sherri, don't do this,' they welcomed me back with open arms. Nobody ever said I told you so, especially Whoopi Goldberg because she came in my room every day and was like 'Here's the red flags.' She came and she said 'I got your back,' so I love all my best friends."
