Celebs who step out at today's Billboard Latin Music Awards in steamy Miami aren't going to get a little thing like humidity get in the way of red carpet-ready hair. And when the weather turns muggy this summer, neither should we.

Even though humid weather can cause straight hair to go flat, and curly hair to expand and frizz as the day progresses, E! Style Collective member and celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena has the remedy. To keep your hair photo-ready—even if that means just taking selfies by the pool—try these pro-styling tips.

Hydrate beforehand: If your vacation takes you to tropical parts this summer, like Emily Blunt seen here in Miami, get ahead of the hair curve by prepping for the climate change before you touch down. "Do a conditioning treatment and drink lots of water before you go," Mena said. "This will help ensure your hair is ultra-moisturized before you arrive."

Keep it dirty: Sweat-inducing weather may send you straight to the shower stall, but Mena, who styles celebs like Olivia Munn and Jordana Brewster, suggested skipping a hair wash to make locks look their best. "In humid weather, it's easier to style your hair when it has a little natural oil in it, so don't wash your hair the day of an event."

Pick the right products: When styling hair, keep it moisturized by reaching for silicone and cream-based products, Mena recommended. Not sure which products make the grade? Many are actually labeled "anti-humidity" to eliminate guesswork. Look for so-labeled hairsprays and blow-dry serums formulated to perform in sticky weather.

Don't overdo it: Myth-busting time: Hair doesn't get more glam with the more product used. In fact, the opposite is true. "Be careful of applying too much product to the hair," Mena warned. "This can weigh down fine hair and make it limp."

Here's to dodging the stickiest of hair situations, no matter what the weather.
