#BabyDilly (aka Israel David Dillard) is the first child for Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard, and while mom pretty much knew what to expect, her hubby needed a bit of a parenting primer.

Fortunately, there's no shortage of babies amongst the 19 Kids and Counting stars, so before Derick actually become a daddy, he got some childcare tips from brother-in-law Josh Duggar. In this exclusive clip from the family's TLC show, Derick goes through "parenting 101"—otherwise known as trying to buckle Josh and Anna Duggar's 1-year-old son Marcus into his carseat.

And? Josh, who has three kids and another on the way, quickly realized he needed to go back to basics with Derick. As he put it, "We've gotta start at like ground zero."

Derick, admittedly, had a lot to learn. "I've definitely observed kids form a distance," he clarified, "but it's great being in Jill's family [with] so many kids and getting to kind of interact within them and make notes in my own head so I can know what to do with my own kids when that time comes."

"I wanna do it the right way," said Derick. "I don't wanna just throw him in a carseat and duct tape him to it."

Oh, boy! So how did this dad-to-be fare? Did Jill have to intervene, or did Derick's "efficient" efforts to get Marcus buckled in work out?! Watch the exclusive clip above to find out!

Plus, tune in to 19 Kids and Counting, Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on TLC.
